Natalie is talking!
And just in time too! She turns 15 months in just a couple of hours. It just all of a sudden happened too. She had been saying a word here, a word there only to never say it before but now she's just jabbering away. Her new words include hi (she's said this one before but says it even more now), hey, around and around (said while looking up at ceiling fan and making a movement with her finger to demonstrate the ceiling fan turning), and eye (said while pointing at either her eye or my eye). Eye is her newest word, said today. This sudden burst of vocabulary started Friday morning when I walked into Natalie's room and she said "Hi" to me from the bed while John was changing her diaper. She has a way of surprising me like that. She did it before when she said "Hi" out of the blue when talking to my mom (I had told her to say "hi" to her grandma but she had never said "hi" before so when she did say "hi", it just shocked me speechless!). So now, she's talking a little more which makes me feel very relieved as I had been concerned about her lack of clear speech. In the back of my mind though, I figured that she might be a little delayed due to the German that John has been teaching her. I don't think it will be long before we have a bone fide chatterbox on our hands. lol

Oh yes, the spurts of language are so fun ... I'm sure she will be a regular chatter box soon and you won't hardly remember a time when she didn't talk. :-)
